Your responsibilities
The Head of Consumer Technical Insights for Midea European Research Center will be responsible for monitoring European market trends, conducting consumer research on cross-category products and concepts, and drawing consumer insights from a variety of sources to guide consumer-centric product development. The Head of Consumer Technical Insights will participate in the decision-making and supporting R&D research activities to assure that new concepts and products resonate with consumers and win in the marketplace. The Head of Consumer Technical Insights will moreover investigate new methods, technologies, and processes to reveal unmet customer needs and be able to translate those needs into product innovation ideas to expand Midea’s product portfolio. Furthermore, the Head of Consumer Technical Insights will interact with the global Midea consumer insights and marketing community.

- Lead product and consumer research and insights via targeted surveys, and on-site or in home interviews to search for or validate innovative appliances, solutions, and ideas.
- Monitor and analyze EU trends for the Midea’s product portfolio.
- Research and understand the markets and competitors’ landscape, as well as product offerings, in order to define products and features.
- Work as a liaison between EU Marketing team, R&D team, China Customer-Market-Insight team and global home appliance product divisions.
- Proactively identify potential consumer needs and lead innovation sessions with internal R&D innovation team.
- Close work with R&D Engineering, Marketing, and Sales teams to improve the success of product launches and road maps for different product categories.
- Conduct research to identify emerging trends, product features, and devices that improve user experiences. Gather insights through consumer surveys, tests, and feedback, and use this data to guide product development, ensuring new features meet consumer needs.
- Establish internal procedures and best practices to analyze consumer insights data
- Introduce the VOC (Voice of the Customer) in the product development process
